The short version
The Sexy Walrus Triathlon & Adventure Club runs this website to show its members' cards, its records and its own comic mythology. Everything on it is written when the club supplies it, and nothing about you is gathered when you read it.
You can now have an account and a card of your own. If you make one, we keep what you type and nothing else: your email address, a scrambled version of your password, the few lines of your card, and your photograph if you add one. Reading the site without signing in still leaves no trace with us at all.

What we do not do
- No analytics, no pixels, no advertising and no profiling of any kind.
- No third-party content loading in the background. Nothing is embedded: video and social links open on the other site, in a new tab, only when you click them.
- No tracking of what you read. Not signed in, not signed in and looking at somebody's card — we do not record visits, reading habits or which cards you open.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal information with anybody.
- No advertising money and no data brokers. There is nothing here to sell.

What is actually processed
The sound setting
The homepage asks whether you want sound. Your answer is remembered in your own browser, on your own device, so it does not ask again. That setting never reaches us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Standard server records
Like every website, this one is served by a hosting provider, which keeps routine technical records — such as IP address, time, the page requested and the browser type — in order to serve the site, keep it secure and fix faults. These are used for that purpose only and are not used to identify or profile visitors.
When you follow a link off this site
Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps are separate companies with their own privacy notices and their own cookies. Once you click through, their rules apply, not ours. We do not receive anything about you from them.
The weekly email
If you sign up for the weekly email, we keep the email address you give us and the date you gave it. That is the whole record. It is used to send you that and nothing else: no profiling, no advertising, no passing it to anybody else. It is held in the club's own database.
Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes the address from the list immediately. You can also ask us to delete it outright through the club's accounts, and we will.

Making an account
You can make an account with an email address and a password. You do not need an invitation, and anybody with an email address can do it. The account owns one card on this site.
We keep your email address, your password, and the things you type onto your card. That is the complete list. We do not keep your name from anywhere else, your location, your device, or anything you did not type yourself.
Your password
Passwords are scrambled with a deliberately slow one-way method (scrypt), with a different salt for each account. Scrambling is one-way: we cannot read your password back, and neither can anybody who found the file. It is never written down anywhere in readable form.
If you forget it, the club can mint a one-time recovery link for your account. It works once, expires, and only lets you set a new password. Nobody can use it to read the old one. Signing in is rate-limited, so a guessed password gets nowhere quickly.
Your session
When you sign in, one cookie is set so the site knows it is you: sw_session. It holds a random string, not your email address. It is HttpOnly (no script can read it), Secure (it only travels over an encrypted connection) and SameSite=Lax (it is not sent along with third-party requests). It expires after 90 days, and signing out ends it immediately on that device. Clearing your browser's site data for this site ends it too.
Signing in on a second device sets a second session of its own. Signing out on one device does not sign you out on the other.
Your card
Your card has two halves, and the difference matters. The club's half — your results, times, positions and trophies — comes from the club's own records. We keep it in the club's archives, it is shown on your card from there, and no account of yours can add to it, change it or delete it. If a result of yours is wrong, tell the club and the club will correct its record.
Your half is the nickname, the one line about you, the short list of traits. You type those, you can change them whenever you like, and they are shown on your card as you left them.
Your photograph
You can keep the club's commissioned engraving, or add a photograph of your own. Uploaded photographs are stored in the club's own file storage, are limited to 2 MB, and are accepted only if they really are a JPEG, PNG or WebP image, checked by the file's own contents rather than its name.
A photograph you upload is yours to look at until you save it. It is stored privately and it is not shown to anybody else — not on your card, not to other members, not in any list — until you press save. Removing it deletes it from storage and puts the club's engraving back on the card.
Notes under other members' cards
Signed-in members can leave short notes under a member's card. A note is stored with your name and the time you wrote it, and is visible to signed-in members. You can delete your own notes. The club can remove any note. A deleted note is hidden from everybody rather than destroyed: the row is marked as deleted and remains, so that a mistaken or malicious deletion can be looked into.
Deleting your account
Ask the club through its own accounts and we will remove the account and the photograph with it. Your card reverts to the club's own record, which is where the results came from in the first place.
Nothing here is shared with anybody else, and there are no third-party scripts, no analytics and no advertising on any page.

Members named on the site
Member cards name members and record club results and achievements. That information is published with the member's agreement, and it comes from the club's own archives and from the member.
If your card is already here, you can claim it rather than start a new one. The club mints a link for that exact card; it works once and then expires. Claiming a card makes its profile half yours to edit and leaves its results, times, positions and trophies exactly as the club recorded them. Without such a link nobody can claim a card, and a card already claimed cannot be claimed again — a name on its own proves nothing.
Any member can ask for their card to be corrected, updated or removed, at any time and without giving a reason. Ask us through the club's accounts and we will do it promptly. Nobody has to appear on this site.

This site is about an adult endurance club and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 13, and the only thing a child could sign up to is a letter about walruses.

Changes
This notice already describes the members' area that now exists: your account, the session cookie, your half of the card, your photograph and the notes under other cards. It was rewritten when the accounts were built, not after.
If the site ever starts doing something further — payments, entries, or any form of measurement — this notice will be rewritten first and the date at the top will change. It will never describe something we do not do.
Plain-English summary: read the site and nothing is recorded. Make an account and we hold your address, your password and what you type — nothing else. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party code anywhere.
